The novel “Three Comrades” is much more than a story about friendship. It is a painful and honest portrait of a generation disfigured by war. A generation that is trying to learn to live with the burden of losses. Bringing to the stage a work permeated with longing, fragile hope and inner breakdown is a real challenge for artists. But it is the theater that is able to give this story a special sound, making it close and touching for everyone.
At the center of the plot are Robert Lokamp, Otto Kester and Gottfried Lenz. They are not just former front-line comrades. They are one, a strong community that holds together despite the confusion of the world, where moral guidelines have been erased, and ideals have been destroyed by the flames of the First World War. They are saved by mutual support and simple things: a sip of rum, an old car, shared memories that do not allow them to completely dissolve in emptiness... How close and understandable this is today to many defenders of Ukraine, who are faced with the challenge of difficult social adaptation.
The duration of the performance is 3 hours and 40 minutes, with an intermission. We are waiting for you!
