The first Ukrainian work in the genre of "fantasy", the love story of a simple village boy Lukash and the forest dryad Mavka. This play-song "embodied the folk perception of the surrounding world, the ancient mythological thinking of Ukrainians, the search for oneself in the modern world.
The magical world of ancient stories and fairy tales, forest otherworldly heroes collides with the world of people, and the problem of human relations arises - in the person of Lukash, his mother, the widow Kylina, and nature - in the person of Mavka and other forest inhabitants. After all, man is used to treating nature consumerly!
Using natural gifts, man does not notice his harmful actions. Encountering the fantasy world of the ancient forest and falling in love with Mavka, Lukash violates the usual order of his world and the magical world of the forest.
Mavka is the embodiment not only of the beauty and defenselessness of nature, but also of the spiritual beauty of man, it cannot be destroyed in everyday petty worries. It is eternally reborn.

The Odesa Academic Theater of Young Spectators is one of the oldest and most beautiful children's theaters in the country. It has been operating since 1930 and during this time has received many international awards ("Scarlet Sails", the award of the International Festival of Young Spectators, the "GLORIA" Arts Festival), and dozens of People's and Honored Artists of Ukraine have performed on its stage.
The theater is located in Odessa at the address: st. Gretska, 48a.
The Odessa Academic Theater of Young Spectators is interesting because its repertoire combines both classical performances and unusual avant-garde productions, both entertaining performances for kids and serious plays for young men.
