La Traviata is a classic opera by Giuseppe Verdi, which is performed on the stages of almost all opera houses in the world.
In our theater, the interpretation of this opera is modern. The action takes place in the second half of the twentieth century, when the fashion industry gained momentum, and fashion shows became a favorite and prestigious spectacle. Violetta Valerie is a popular model and fashion designer, her life is completely devoted to the catwalk. As in the original work, she is terminally ill. Meeting Alfred and approaching death forces the heroine to rethink a carefree past, to understand true human values, among which the most important is love. First, love helps Violetta to overcome the disease, and later the feeling of the selected right to love, gives a chance to overcome the disease of a young life - this is the concept of the play's directors: director Vitaly Palchikov, set designer Lyudmila Nagornaya and costume designer Angela Lysitsa.
La Traviata is the winner of the Kyiv Pectoral Award as the best musical performance of 2011.
