Pavlo Zibrov is a Ukrainian pop singer and composer, whose popularity continues to grow, and his successful creative career has been actively developing for more than 40 years. The People's Artist of Ukraine, the owner of a velvet baritone and the most famous mustache in Ukrainian show business, maintains a high status in the music industry and is an idol for representatives of several generations.
The history of the artist
Pavlo Zibrov grew up among the picturesque nature of Vinnytsia, and the boy's childhood passed under the noise of cherry orchards, folk songs and the warm voice of his mother. It was the family that became the main source of inspiration for the future artist. From his father, Pavlo inherited hard work and the ability to do everything himself, and from his mother - a love of music, words and culture.
At the age of nine, the boy began his studies as a student at the Mykola Lysenko Kyiv Music Boarding School. At first, he was supposed to learn to play the cello, but due to a shortage of students, he was transferred to the double bass. At school, children were instilled with a love of the classics - the works of Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Mozart. But, like most young people of that time, Pavlo and his friends were fond of the Beatles and Chicago, so after classes they would gather in basements and ZhEKs, where they would rehearse and play whatever they liked.
Creation of "Yavor" and a significant victory at the Kerch competition
In the ninth grade, Pavlo Zibrov joined a vocal-instrumental group, which later received the name "Yavor". The group included keyboardists, drummers, guitarists, bassists and even a cellist. The young musicians performed exclusively original songs and independently created arrangements. Soon a full-fledged concert program was formed, with which the artists began to perform on the prestigious dance floor of the House of Culture of the aircraft factory.
The group's popularity grew rapidly. Young artists were invited to give concerts at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, the Civil Engineering University, the Highway Institute, as well as at the camps "Sosnovy Bir", "Antey" and "Vostok". The group quickly became famous outside the capital - their performances took place in the Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions. The musicians played at holidays, festivals and family events, and the money they earned was invested in development - they bought instruments, amplifiers, drums and equipment. By the eleventh grade, the group already had a serious musical inventory.
In 1975, six members of the group went to the republican competition in Kerch. There was simply not enough money for a larger number of tickets. Despite this, the young performers won fourth place and became diploma winners.
Creative path
Professional education and the beginning of a musical career
At the age of twenty, Pavlo entered the Tchaikovsky Kyiv Conservatory in the double bass class. While still a student, he began working in the State Pop Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, gradually gaining recognition among professional musicians. After completing his studies, he served in the ranks of the Soviet army - in the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Kyiv Military District. In 1982, the artist had to visit hot spots, in particular - in Afghanistan.
At the age of 27, Pavlo returned to the conservatory again - this time to the faculty of classical vocals. It was then that his solo career began to develop actively. The young singer became the laureate of the radio competition "New Names", receiving first prize and first large-scale recognition.
In 1986–1993, Pavel Zibrov was a soloist of the State Pop and Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. It was then that he finally transformed from a double bassist into a full-fledged artist of the big stage. Together with the military song and dance ensemble, he visited Paris. He lived there quite modestly, but France made a huge impression on the future star. Later, the musician went to Canada, where he purchased a synthesizer, which he still keeps. It was on this instrument that many future hits were written.
In 1986, the singer became the laureate of the Republican competition, and in 1987 he won at the all-Union level and received the status of soloist of the State Symphony Orchestra.
