Be my Marguerite! (or in the strangeness of loneliness)
September 20 · 17:00 · Chamber stage of the ICCM
A powerful chamber performance about human strength and vulnerability, freedom and the strangeness of loneliness. The main character M goes through different social roles and archetypes, trying to find her own voice, safety and freedom to be herself.
The performance is based on texts by French writer Marguerite Duras, collected from her interviews and transformed into an intimate stage monologue. The word is complemented by the body, movement, music and visual space: electronic sound meets classical piano, and the scenography becomes a separate full-fledged participant in the performance.
"Be my Marguerite!" (or in the strangeness of loneliness)" has already been presented in Switzerland, France at the Avignon Festival, and in Ukraine - at the Francophonies of Kyiv and Lviv, Ukraine Fringe, at the Dakh Theater, and at GogolFest in Mariupol. After 39 performances in French and English, the play will be performed in Ukrainian for the first time.
Author and performer - Madeleine Bongar.
Duration - 1 hour.
