"Lviv School of Composition: Dialogue of Eras"
March 27 at 6:00 PM
The Great Hall of the Odessa Philharmonic invites you to a special concert!
The National Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra, together with famous artists of Ukrainian music, will present a vibrant program that unites generations of the Lviv composer school.
Volodymyr SIVOKHIP, People's Artist of Ukraine, will conduct the concert. The program will feature works spanning a century of Ukrainian music and demonstrating its depth, drama, and modern sound.
The evening will open with Stanislav LUDKEVICH's symphonic poem "Dance of the Skeletons" — a mystical and expressive composition full of philosophical reflections on life and death.
The central event of the concert will be the Concerto for Oboe and Orchestra by Bohdana FROLYAK (2022), which will be performed in Odessa for the first time. The soloist is Stepan SIVOKHIP. This is a modern work with subtle emotionality and a bright orchestral palette, opening up new facets of Ukrainian music.
The program will be concluded by Mykola KOLESSA's Symphony No. 2 in A minor, a large-scale work that combines the depth of symphonic thinking and the expressive national intonation inherent in the composer's work.
This concert is a meeting of Lviv and Odessa, tradition and modernity, which will give listeners deep emotions and unforgettable impressions.
