Light, ironic, tabloid comedies by the famous French comedian Marc Camoletti are successful in many European countries: France, Italy, Germany, Austria. Look at the theater posters and you will definitely find "French Side Dish" or "The Too Married Taxi Driver". In his plays, Camoletti ridicules piquant life situations that also occur in our lives, perhaps this is the reason for the wild success that his comedies enjoy.
"Love in French" is a comedy in which everyone is so engrossed that sometimes they can't remember who they are and who they are supposed to portray. So, remember: Bernard is Jacqueline's husband, but he cheats on his wife with a young beauty. Jacqueline is Bernard's wife, who cheats on her husband with Robert. Robert is his mistress's husband's best friend, but later he cheats on her too, having "set his eyes" on the beautiful Suzanne. Suzanne is Bernard's darling and mistress, whose birthday is today, but instead of gifts she is given an apron and sent to the kitchen instead of Suzette. Suzette is a cook who manages to earn quite a bit that evening, and who, by the way, has a very jealous husband, George.
And, seriously, the best thing about the play is the fantastic acting alliance: Tamara Yatsenko, Timur Aslanov, Marina Yagodkina, Georgy Hostikoev, Kristina Sinelnik, and Yevgeny Paperny so easily and talentedly illuminate Camoletti's intrigues that a tabloid comedy turns into a fun and truly spicy theatrical play before the eyes of the audience.
