AN EVENING OF POLISH MUSIC WITH MAESTRO REVAKOWICZ!

On April 22, the performers of the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Transcarpathian Philharmonic will perform under the direction of   outstanding Polish conductor Roman Revakovych, who is actively working to popularize Ukrainian music in Poland and Polish in Ukraine. The musicians will present the concert program “POLAND-UKRAINE MUSIC DIALOGUES” to the Transcarpathian audience. Maestro Roman Revakovych – a symbol of Polish-Ukrainian cultural dialogue – will present masterpieces of Polish symphonic music that are rarely performed in Ukraine.

Soloists   evening, famous Lviv musicians -   you   will hear the virtuoso piano of People's Artist of Ukraine Jozsef Yermin and the magical sounds of Lidia Futorska's violin.

The evening's program includes four notable works by Polish composers of different generations:   Henryk Mykolay Gurecki – “Three Pieces in the Old Style” for string orchestra;   Mikołaj Piotr Gurecki – “Concerto notturno” for violin and string orchestra; Mieczysław Karlowicz – “Serenade for Strings” op. 2;   Wojciech Kielar - Second Concerto for Piano and Orchestra.

The concert will be a vivid example of how art can build bridges between countries and cultures. The high level of performance, the thoughtful program, the powerful sound of the symphony orchestra and soloists -   This will be an unforgettable evening.

The host is musicologist Natalia PITSUR.

Location: large hall of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic.

The event will be held in support of our valiant Armed Forces of Ukraine.  

 

Pianist JOSEPH ERMIN was born in Uzhgorod, studied at the Lviv M. V. Lysenko Conservatory (class of M. Krushelnytska) and the Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory (class of E. Malinin). He heads the Department of Special Piano at the Lviv M. V. Lysenko National Academy of Music. As a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist, his repertoire covers music from Baroque to modern times. He has performed in Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the USA and Canada, and has participated in numerous radio and television recordings. Recently, he has increasingly focused on the interpretation of 20th-century music. Laureate of the Revutsky Prize for the Promotion of Contemporary Music in Ukraine (1993), the S. Lyudkevych Prize, People's Artist of Ukraine. The musician participates in numerous projects in Poland. Among them are prestigious festivals: "Warsaw Autumn", "Warsaw Musical Meetings", "Music in Old Krakow", the Krakow Composers Festival, the Lutosławski Festival and the Nikodymowicz Festival in Lublin. His recording of "Kurpiw Songs" by Karol Szymanowski for soprano and piano, made together with Olga Pasiecznyk for the Musicon studio, received the 1998 Phonographic Award "Fryderyk 97" in the solo music category.

 

LIDIYA FUTORSKA – a famous Ukrainian violinist, violin teacher at the Lviv State Art Lyceum named after S. Krushelnytska, a member of the jury of international violin competitions in Ukraine and Slovakia. Born in Lviv, she received her musical education at the Lviv Specialized Music Boarding School named after S. Krushelnytska (class of teacher M. Futorska and prof. H. Pavliy, 1999) and the Lviv Music Academy named after M. Lysenko, which she graduated with honors (class of prof. H. Pavliy, 2004). She continued her studies in an assistantship-internship with prof. L. Shutko (2004-2007).

The artist distinguished herself as: a scholar of the “Gaude Polonia” program of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland; a long-term scholar of the President of Ukraine; a doctoral student at the S. Moniuszko Gdańsk Academy of Music (Poland); she was on an artistic internship at the Warsaw University of Music named after F. Chopin with Prof. K.-A. Kulka; a laureate of international competitions in the Czech Republic (1994); Ukraine (1994, 2002) and Croatia (2009).

She has performed in Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Azerbaijan. She has collaborated with most symphonic and chamber ensembles in Ukraine: orchestras of Lviv, Uzhhorod, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Crimea.

Repeated participant of international festivals: "Virtuosos", "Contrasts", "Early Music Festival" (Lviv); "Kharkiv contemporary" (Kharkiv); "Bach-fest", "Organum" (Sumy); "Kubinska hudobna jesen" (Dolni Kubin, Slovakia); "Brunoever" (Lublin, Poland); "Poesifestival" (Stockholm, Sweden); "Days of Lviv in Krakow" and others.
