"Half-taste of the last love"

      A touching love story of Taras Shevchenko and Lykera Polusmak in its embodiment of little-known pages of the last year of the life of the prophet of Ukrainians - the great Kobzar. The performance poses questions to the viewer that we need to find answers to.

     Is the life of our Kobzar beyond doubt? Is that frowning old man, whose monuments stand all over Ukraine, Shevchenko? Or is he? Our Prophet? Apostle? Heretic? No! He is not! He is not Shevchenko! They wanted to see him like this. Submissive, old, academic. The authorities, science, society. They needed a yardstick by which to measure him and scales on which to weigh him. But there is no such yardstick and there are no such scales by which to measure and weigh the Kobzar. Because we Shevchenko   we are beginning to discover for ourselves and the world now, in the 21st century. And this, almost detective story of his last love, is living proof of that.
