LARGE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. CONTRASTS AND METAMORPHOSES

The National Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra invites you to an evening of symphonic music that combines the expression of the 20th century, the philosophical depth of romanticism, and the colorful lyrics of the Slavic tradition.

At the conductor's desk is Hobart Earle, the orchestra's artistic director and principal conductor .

Soloist - Dmytro TKACHENKO (violin) , one of the brightest Ukrainian musicians of our time.

THE CONCERT PROGRAM includes three works that are different in style and imagery, united by the idea of inner movement and transformation.

Béla Bartók's Violin Concerto No. 2 is one of the most complex examples of the violin repertoire of the 20th century.

It combines intellectual construction, rhythmic tension, and reinterpreted folk intonations. The music unfolds as a dialogue between the soloist and the orchestra: from restrained, almost detached expression to impulsive, explosive energy.

The Prelude to the musical drama "Tristan and Isolde" by Richard Wagner is one of the key works of late Romanticism, which determined the further development of European music. This is music of extreme emotional concentration, where the form dissolves in the flow of sensations. The orchestral fantasy for orchestra from the opera "Rusalka" by Antonín Dvořák (in the concept of M. Honeck and T. Ille) opens up familiar opera material in a symphonic dimension. It combines expressive melodism, transparent orchestration and subtle imagery, gravitating towards an impressionistic palette - PREMIERE IN ODESSA.

A unique musical evening with a program built on contrasts and the internal development of musical thought: from a clear construction and tension to a continuous unfolding of emotion and further to an imaginative, melodically rich language.
