«Ukrainian Scam or 100,000 $» is a stage reinterpretation of Ivan Karpenko-Karyi’s famous play «One Hundred Thousand».
The story, written over a century ago, surprisingly reflects today’s reality, making the audience reflect on values and choices everyone faces.
At the center of the plot is the Kalytka family. The father is obsessed with the idea of quick wealth through a fraud scheme involving fake money. His son Roman faces a difficult decision: follow his father’s path or remain faithful to his feelings and love for a simple girl, Motria.
Together with the characters, the audience searches for the answer to the eternal question: what matters more — money or love?
The performance combines witty humor, satire, and deep reflections on human nature. It is not only a story about fraud, but also about morality, temptation, and responsibility for one’s choices. Events unfold rapidly, keeping the audience engaged until the very end.
