The Tea House Theater offers its esteemed audience a very relevant story that can become a reflection of the fate of any of us.
The play "MAMA" in Odesa will take place at the Tea House Theater.
"MAMA" is a production by director Vlad Kostika. The plot of the play is based on the play by Italian playwright Aldo Nicolai "Have You Never Rided a Camel?" The genre of the play is tragicomedy. And this means that there will be a place for humor, sadness, and deep reflections in it. On stage – Tatyana Paraskeva, Olga Saltykova and Maria Kabakchey.
“MOTHER” is a touching, funny and at the same time deeply dramatic play about a mother’s love and her fear of being alone. The production explores the line between care and control and demonstrates how even the most sincere love can become a shackle. A story about generations that do not always hear each other, about the desire for freedom and love – all this with Italian sincerity and warm humor. The duration of the play is 80 minutes. Age category – 12+. Please note: the hall is open seating. After the start of the performance, the audience is not allowed into the hall. See you!

Theatre laboratory "Theatre on Chayna" was founded in Odesa by a team of like-minded enthusiasts. They were graduates of the Odesa Theater Lyceum. And the main initiator was Oleksandr Onyshchenko, who was appointed director and artistic director of the theater. From the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Oleksandr Petrovych joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And Danilo Savchenko became the acting director.
The institution's birthday is April 6, 2010. Already in the second year of its creative activity, the theater received the prize "For the best acting ensemble and high acting culture in the play" at the 9th festival of non-state theaters "Kurbalesia" in Kharkiv.
"Theatre on Chayna" is truly special. This is the only private theater in the city, which in 2025 celebrated its 15th anniversary. The theater team changed its location several times. Karantinna and Marazliyivska streets, Otonivskyi lane - and finally moved to a renovated chamber space at 37 Nizhynska. The hall was equipped to comfortably accommodate up to 60 spectators.
The theater director Danylo Savchenko explains that the main difference of a private stage is freedom of choice: the team has the opportunity to stage exactly those performances that resonate internally, raise important topics for it and respond to current requests, and are not created to order.
With the beginning of a full-scale war, the troupe was significantly reduced - almost three times, to about fifteen participants. Despite this, the theater did not stop working and continued to develop. According to Danylo Savchenko, the loss of some directors made the process of creating new productions more difficult, so for some time the team focused on the existing repertoire. At the same time, even under these conditions, they managed to prepare several premieres.
Now the team is not stopping: work continues on both updating the repertoire and developing a new theatrical space. The list of performances of the "Theater on Tea" includes works based on plays by domestic and foreign authors:
Do you appreciate the intimate atmosphere of the theater, and in the productions - expressive drama, sharp humor and psychological depth? - Then choose an event to your liking in the poster of the “Theater on Tea” and book tickets right away, because they sell out quickly.
