“Perfumer” is an original theatrical adaptation of Patrick Süskind’s novel about a man with an extraordinary sense of smell who becomes obsessed with creating the perfect fragrance. In this version by the theatre laboratory “Volia,” the dark and unsettling story is transformed into a vivid musical spectacle inspired by pin-up aesthetics.
The production highlights the contrast between the inner world of a lonely perfumer and the harsh reality surrounding him. Stylized choreography, energetic musical arrangements featuring world hits of the 1960s, and comic-book-inspired sets create a visually bold and emotionally intense experience that blends beauty with unease.
This performance is not just a retelling of a famous novel, but a reimagining that explores obsession, imagination, and the boundaries between art and morality.
