Kyiv Drama Theater on Podil: history and location

The Kyiv Drama Theater on Podol is located in the tourist center of Kyiv at Andriivskyi Uzviz, 20-B. The magnificent building attracts the attention of passers-by and is a real temple of art for sincere connoisseurs of the professional work of directors and actors. The opening of the theater took place in 1987. Since that time, its main inspiration, director and artistic director is People's Artist of Ukraine Vitaly Malakhov.
Today, the theater in Podil has a new appearance, which was the subject of controversy for some time. But despite this, both supporters of the stylistic transformation of the building and sharp critics of the idea remained loyal to the beloved institution. And the number of friends of the theater continues to grow every day.

Capacity and structure of the site

The hall of the Kyiv Drama Theater in Podol today comfortably accommodates 253 spectators and has 50 seats in the theater lounge. During the demonstration of performances, an inclusive approach is used: sign language and audio description. And today the institution is almost the only theater with similar conditions in the capital. The modern modern image of the institution combines the latest technologies and the principles of minimalism. The scale of the stage, the construction of which is made according to classic European standards, has increased.
