Performance «Volunteer’s Notes»
«Volunteer’s Notes» is a documentary satire based on the book of the same name by Odesa volunteer Oleksandr Zakernychnyi.
After the beginning of the full-scale war, ordinary people find themselves in a completely new reality. The characters of the performance learn to joke under shelling, stay silent about fear but not about military problems, lose brothers-in-arms yet continue moving forward.
The production is based on authentic frontline notes of a volunteer, where war appears not as a chronicle of battles, but as the everyday life of a true Odesa resident inside a catastrophe.
Through fragments of memories, the performance explores how war changes memory, language, human closeness, and the perception of time, while still leaving room for humor, hope, and an endless love for life.
