A group whose creative work combines folk song, folk music and choreography
The Ukrainian Academic Folklore and Ethnographic Ensemble "Kalyna" was created in Kyiv in 1981 (it received academic status in 2004). As the goal of its activity, the team outlined the popularization and depiction of traditional rites, preservation of Ukrainian cultural heritage.
The ensemble "Kalyna" includes:
- ballet;
- choir;
- orchestra.
The collective's repertoire includes bright thematic and festive programs, the numbers of which cover the range from ancient rites to modern remixes of well-known folk works.
