Becoming an artist
Oleksandr Rudynskyi is a Ukrainian theater and film actor, Honored Artist of Ukraine. The future star of the big stage was born in the city of Nikolaev. Oleksandr's childhood was active and eventful. The actor recalled that, first of all, he learned independence in his young years, since he worked from the age of 12 and sought to be financially independent of his parents.
The future actor studied at a creative school. So he became interested in acting and the world of culture. At the same time, he was engaged in ballroom dancing and mixed martial arts. Already in the 5th grade, the guy realized that creativity was his calling. But success and popularity were preceded by many unpleasant moments. Once, the actor says, he and his friends “distinguished themselves” in a rather unpleasant story. This was not the first time. So, in the end, Sasha was even expelled from school after the 8th grade.
Oleksandr enjoyed the authority of a leader among his classmates and was a real star of the school. So the students even collected signatures in support of the guy. But attempts to return Sasha to the institution were unsuccessful. He had to finish his studies at the lyceum.
Oleksandr Rudynskyi began studying acting in Mykolaiv, studying in a studio at the theater. He received roles in small performances. And at the age of 18, he moved to the capital and entered the Kyiv National University of Theater, Cinema and Television named after Karpenko-Kary.
Creative path
Alexander Rudynsky's theatrical debut took place during his university years. The first theatrical work for the actor was the play "Twelfth Night" directed by Dmitry Bogomazov and Andrey Saminin. The performance took place on the stage of the Theater on the Left Bank of the Dnieper. The first step towards recognition among movie fans was his participation in the film "Independence Day. Bun Family" directed by Yulia Pavlova. It was a drama by genre. And the plot of the film was based on real events during World War II. The premiere of the film took place in 2016.
After completing his studies in 2018, Oleksandr Rudynsky joined the creative team of the Ivan Franko National Drama Theater. At the same time, he continues his path to recognition in the film industry. One of the actor's first notable film roles was his role in the film "11 Children from Morshyn", directed by Arkady Nepytalyuk. Rudynsky's talent and charisma conquered not only fans of the genre, but also attracted the attention of producers.
In 2019, Alexander played the main role (played Nick Maslov) in the television series "The First Swallows" on "New Channel". After the release of the series, Rudinsky became recognizable: the performer of the bright role began to be stopped on the streets, photographed. And fans began to visit the theater where the actor played more often.
Professional development
Success on the screen expanded the audience of loyal fans. In 2020, Rudinsky again appeared on television screens in the lead role. He played Lesha Smetanin in the continuation of the series called "The First Swallows: Dependents". After filming was completed, Alexander returned to the theater stage. However, in 2021, the actor starred in the film "Rhino" directed by Oleg Sentsov, where he played the role of Rudy. The film was presented at a number of international festivals. And in Stockholm, the work received an award for best feature film.
After gaining worldwide recognition, Oleksandr Rudynskyi landed a role in a major American project. The actor played a one-eyed bandit in three episodes of the Netflix series Decameron. Later, he successfully auditioned for the spy thriller series The Agency, starring George Clooney. Rudynskyi played the role of a Ukrainian soldier and worked alongside movie stars Michael Fassbender, Richard Gere, and Jeffrey Wright.
In February 2025, a short film about the war in Ukraine, "Rock, Paper, Scissors," by British director Franz Boehm, won the most prestigious British film award, BAFTA. Oleksandr Rudynskyi played one of the main roles in the film. The actor dedicated the award to his comrade and actor Yevhen Svitlichny, who died in the war.

The artist also calls on society to donate to the needs of our defenders. Friends, classmates and colleagues of the actor serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Among them are Max Devizorov, film director Oleg Sentsov. According to Rudynskyi, many of his acquaintances are defending the country. And he sincerely respects them, because these people are real authorities for everyone.
