OTOY

About the artist

A young star of rap and hip-hop with an itian background and crazy creative potential

OTOY (real name – Vyacheslav Drofa) is a bright representative of a new generation of Ukrainian musicians who, before the beginning of his own career, showed himself in guest writing (writing tracks to order), acting, dubbing films and games, performing at literary evenings.

OTOY announced himself as a musician in 2020, releasing the track "Rod" in collaboration with alyona alyona, Kalush and other artists. In the same year, the first official release of OTOY – EP CVIT – was released.

In 2022, the artist released the album "Okolofront", which was recognized as one of the best albums on the subject of war. It contains the track "My Brother", dedicated to Vyacheslav's cousin Dmytro, who died during an attempt to break out of Azovstal.

Another wartime album was the release of "Short-lived Relationships". It took a day to top the Apple Music chart and become the only Ukrainian album in the "Hip-Hop" category.

In 2023, the audacious and creative artist overcame the boundaries of a niche audience and won over the general public by appearing on the stage of Eurovision 2023 as a guest artist with a rap composition based on Taras Shevchenko's poem "Cherry Orchard Around the House".

"My body contains a soul"

It is these words that are tattooed on the body of the singer, and it is this message that OTOY calls his main life postulate. The rapper has and demonstrates an active civic position, telling the world about modern Ukrainian realities, volunteering. The artist's work today acquires new features: poise, depth, awareness. The new OTOY is more mature and serious. Its vectors and values are clearly defined, and the musical style deviates from the classical genre division.

The most famous OTOY tracks:
  • "Convulsions";
  • "Looked for yesterday";
  • "To the cuckoo";
  • "My brother" and others.
