«Berezil» Palace of Culture: History of Ternopil's Largest Concert Hall

The Les Kurbas Ternopil City «Berezil» Palace of Culture is the main leisure center of Ternopil, officially opened in November 1977. The venue welcomed its first visitors under the name «Zhovten». Its current name appeared in 1990. The initiative to name the Palace of Culture «Berezil» after the artistic association came from local historian and journalist Mykhailo Onyskiv and public, cultural, and educational figure and local historian Hennadii Yavorskyi.

The Ternopil City Palace of Culture began its active work in 1978. A major concert featuring artists from the region was held on its stage. Since then, the venue has hosted dozens of events of various themes and formats featuring local and regional, professional and amateur song and dance ensembles, orchestras, children's artistic groups, renowned artists, and bands.

Location and Capacity of the Venue

The Les Kurbas «Berezil» Palace of Culture is located near the city center at 6 Myru Street. The building is designed in the constructivist architectural style – there are no decorative details on the facade, only emphasized elements of functionality.
