The Kyiv Opera is hosting an evening of one-act ballets “Bolero” and “Rain” by “Kyiv Modern Ballet”. The first ballet is set to music by Maurice Ravel. According to Radu Poklitaru, this performance is about a person’s struggle for their own “I” and the right to be different from others, like everyone else. The hero of the ballet is a person who stands up to the crowd. The performance “Bolero” was awarded the “Kyiv Pectoral-2007” award in the “Event of the Year” nomination.

“Rain” is a combination of music by J. S. Bach and melodies of the peoples of the world. The performance became one of the choreographic miniatures, which, according to the author, were to diversify the repertoire of the theater. However, at the same time, the theater artists created something more than a number for concerts. This is how short stories to folk music appeared, united by preludes and fugues of the great composer. The production is filled with trios, pair dances and solo performances, each hero of which tells us his own story. This is how a philosophical parable arose, about random people united in space and time, about a crowd of personalities and a personality in a crowd.
