The dance-movement performance SCAN is a performative exploration of inadequacy as a fundamental condition of human existence. Rather than viewing inadequacy as a lack to be overcome, this work explores it as a force that constantly shapes individual identity, collective behavior, and social structures. The performance is based on the observation that modern life is driven by a constant sense of incompleteness. People are constantly navigating the distance between what they have and what they desire; between fullness and lack. This state generates movement, ambition, transformation, and growth, but at the same time it provokes vulnerability, dependence, exhaustion, and decline. The name SCAN refers to the process of close examination. Like a scanner that reveals hidden layers beneath the surface, the performance exposes subtle psychological and physical states that arise from the experience of inadequacy. Through the body, invisible tensions become visible.
