The story "The Kaidash Family" was written in 1879. So much time has passed since then, and what has changed?!
So, there lived and were the Kaidashs - a large family: Omelko Kaidash, his wife, sons, daughters-in-law... Next to them - their neighbors, godfathers who celebrated weddings with them, families, etc. There was everything in their life, as is usually the case with people: their own joys, troubles, quarrels and reconciliation. They were worried about the eternal problems associated with generations - "fathers and children". Also, the eternal everyday problems of life, when "mine" and "common" collide. Comical situations in this family chronicle border on dramatic events. True, the disputes in the Kaidash family are so funny, petty, and very reminiscent of some of us today, in our complex family relationships, in our relationships with neighbors, and on a broader level, so to speak, on a national scale, in our public life.
