The concert program will feature works by Danylo Vinarikov — Symphony No. 1 and the cycle "Music for Sympho Big Band." This is large-scale symphonic music by a modern Ukrainian composer, combining classical tradition with elements of jazz harmony and rhythm.
Symphony No. 1 was written in February 2026 for an expanded symphony orchestra. The work consists of three movements with a total duration of about 25 minutes and is distinguished by its dynamic tonal development, contrasting dramaturgy, and multi-layered orchestral texture.
The composition is built as a sequence of contrasting states - from solemn and lyrical to tense and mystical episodes, forming a rich sound fabric with a combination of energetic movement, chamber transparency and large-scale symphonic sound. The finale of the symphony sounds in the character of Grave Maestoso con fuoco.
The "Music for Sympho Big Band" cycle is a series of symphonic works first performed by the Dnipro Big Band together with the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Dnipropetrovsk Philharmonic at the "ARTEMOV Jazz Festival", dedicated to the memory of Serhiy Artemov, a jazz musician and composer who died defending Ukraine.
The cycle includes six movements by Danylo Vinarikov, as well as the composition "Solitude" by Sergei Artemov, arranged for symphony orchestra and included as the third movement.
