Luhansk Regional Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater presents the stand-up performance " BUKA " based on the play of the same name by Lena Lyagushonkova and Kateryna Penkova. The following took part in the creation of the production:

The main character, nicknamed Buka, works as an animator and is trying to arrange her personal life. She was raised according to "Soviet standards", which are irrelevant and oppressive in modern society. The text constantly sounds stereotypes about the "place of a woman" in society, and the play harshly questions them. Usually, these narratives, as well as nostalgia for the "scoop", sound from the lips of the adult generation, which had a huge influence on the main character. The play is a comedy in the form of stand-up. The work combines black humor with sincere empathy for the characters.

The language of the characters on stage is lively, sharp, and sometimes provocative.
The play emphasizes that small acts of humanity can have enormous significance. It focuses on issues of self-identification, choice, and survival in urban space.
"Buka" is a social portrait and a call to humanity that makes you laugh and think at the same time.
