A special musical aura of the performance is created by Vadim Bessarab, Fedoseyeva Inna, Kolesnik Natalia, Leonenko Oleksa, Brykaylo Serhiy, Prokhorov Yaroslav and Shagova Oksana.
“Over the Crow’s Nest” is an exposure of the mechanism of a system that is covered up by treatment, but in reality breaks a person; about freedom that sprouts precisely where it seems that it cannot be. The space of a psychiatric hospital is read here much more broadly – as a model of a society in which comfort is achieved through humility, and order exists at the cost of losing one’s own “self”. At the center is the confrontation between the individual and the system, the clash of lively charisma with cold control. Laughter here becomes a form of resistance, and the boundary between “normal” and the other turns out to be fragile and conditional. This is a conversation about the choice – to adapt or to preserve oneself, about the right to be oneself as the basis of human dignity. And at the same time – about the considerable price that one has to pay for it.
