Ukrainian classics - on the stage of the Theater on Podol. A play by I. Karpenko-Kary “One Hundred Thousands” staged by Vitaliy Malakhov, People’s Artist of Ukraine.
“One hundred thousand” is a tragicomedy reflecting the peculiarities of the national character of the heroes in a satirical context. The land has always been the totem of the Ukrainians. It was cultivated, built on it, fought for it. But the “nurse”, unfortunately, is not respected by everyone. The main character of the play, Gerasim Kalytka, is not a reasonable approach to the ground either. Instead of living and enjoying life, he, blinded by the thirst for wealth, goes on all sorts of machinations, deception and intrigue.
Come and see: the play is more relevant today than ever.
The role of Gerasim Kalita is performed by People’s Artist of Ukraine Bogdan Benyuk. Such brilliant actors as Tamara Plasenko, Maksim Maksimyuk, Valentina Sergeeva and others will also appear on the stage.
The duration of the performance - 2 hours and 30 minutes, with intermission.
