Blockbuster Mall: a metropolitan venue that is one of the best in the country

The Blockbuster Mall in Kyiv was opened in November 2019. The establishment has become the largest shopping and entertainment center in Ukraine. The total area of ​​the facility is over 450,000 m2. The complex is located at 36 Stepana Bandera Avenue - next to the Pochaina metro station.

Blockbuster Mall is much more than just a shopping and entertainment center. In addition to dozens of stores, there is a powerful leisure area: the largest cinema in the country, gaming spaces, bowling, an ice arena and other activities for all ages. A separate plus of the complex is a large-scale free parking lot with underground and open ground parts, the total capacity of which reaches 8,000 places.

The idea of ​​​​transforming Blockbuster Mall into a music venue appeared even before the full-scale war. Later, these plans had to be put on hold, but already in February 2023, when concert life in Ukraine almost froze, the institution's team decided not to wait for "better times". An ambitious goal arose - to create a space where music would sound despite everything, and people would be able to listen to their favorite artists live. It was then that Blockbuster Mall began to be considered as an ideal location for new cultural formats.

Blockbuster Mall as an event space in Kyiv

Already in 2024, the venue announced itself to the whole country. Atlas United 2024 was held here - the largest festival of the year, within the framework of which 100 million hryvnias were raised in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the same year, B-Mall Fest took place - a unique music festival in the format of a shopping mall, which set a national record as the largest indoor festival in Ukraine. It was at this location that the world star DJ Schiller performed for the first time in a decade as part of the 4Ukraine project, as well as a large-scale show from SVET with the participation of artists familiar to the public from top festivals in the world.

The most ambitious step was B-Mall Fest 2025 - a charity music festival that took place on November 28-30 and, according to the organizers, gathered over 120,000 visitors in three days.

A partnership with Atlas played an important role in the development of the location, which brought record traffic and professional recognition. As a result, Blockbuster Mall became the first shopping mall in Ukraine to be nominated by the Jäger Music Awards in the “Venue of the Year” category. The institution was included in the long list along with the country's iconic concert spaces, which was a real breakthrough for the shopping mall format. This confirmed: Blockbuster Mall is not just a shopping center, but a full-fledged cultural center, capable of competing with the leading concert venues in Ukraine.

Today, Blockbuster Mall is a venue for various entertainment events. Among them:

• performances of popular comedians;
• music festivals;
• dance performances;
• show programs for children and more.

One of the key advantages of the venue is security. This is where the largest shelter in the country is located, certified by the State Emergency Service and designed for several thousand people at the same time. Thanks to this, large-scale musical events can be safely held in the space.
