Kyiv Cinema House: history and location

The Kyiv Cinema House is a landmark for Ukrainian cinematography. This is one of the most famous cinemas in Kyiv, located in the city center on Saksaganskyi Street, 6, next to Leo Tolstoy Square and Khreshchatyk Street. The Kino House was built in 1958 on the site of a former store. On the opening day, December 6, 1958, Kyiv Cinema House was visited by more than 8,000 spectators, which was a record for that time.

During the years of the institution's existence, the halls were restored and modernized, modern equipment for showing films was installed, new recreation areas were created for visitors, etc. Films were also shot here, presentations were held, and film festivals and other cultural events were held here. Today, the Kyiv Cinema House retains its glory and continues to offer viewers the latest films, classics of world cinema and other options for interesting cultural recreation.

Capacity and structure of sites

The Kyiv Cinema House has 4 floors and five halls with different capacities:

• Great hall - capacity of 1200 seats;
• Hall No. 2 - capacity of 900 seats;
• Hall No. 3 - capacity of 350 seats;
• Hall No. 4 - capacity of 150 seats;
• Hall No. 5 - capacity of 1200 seats.

Each hall is equipped with modern equipment for showing films. In addition, the building has a multifunctional conference hall where presentations, discussions, seminars and other events are held.
The structure of the Kyiv Cinema House also includes a movie club, a restaurant and a coffee shop, as well as shops where you can buy souvenirs and books about cinema. The building also houses a box office for purchasing tickets for movie screenings and other events.
