Kyiv Cinema House: History and Location

Kyiv Cinema House is a landmark place for Ukrainian cinema. It is one of the most famous cinemas in Kyiv, located in the city center at 6 Saksaganskoho Street, next to Lev Tolstoy Square and Khreshchatyk Street. The Cinema House was built in 1958 on the site of a former store. On the opening day, December 6, 1958, the Kyiv Cinema House was visited by more than 8 thousand spectators, which was a record for that time.

Over the years of the institution's existence, the halls have been restored and modernized, modern equipment for showing films has been installed, new recreation areas for visitors have been created, etc. Films have also been shot here, presentations have taken place, and film festivals and other cultural events have been held. Today, the Kyiv Cinema House retains its fame and continues to offer viewers the latest films, world cinema classics and other options for interesting cultural entertainment.

Capacity and structure of venues

The Kyiv Cinema House has 4 floors and five halls with different capacities:

The Great Hall - capacity of 1200 seats;
Hall No. 2 - capacity of 900 seats;
Hall No. 3 - capacity of 350 seats;
Hall No. 4 - capacity of 150 seats;
Hall No. 5 - capacity of 1200 seats.
