Kyiv National Academic Operetta`s Theater has a long history. Its origins can be traced back to 1901, when the construction of a new capital building - the Trinity People's House - began according to the project of the outstanding architect Gennady Antonovsky. Since then, various creative groups have worked within the walls of the theater.
In 1967 it was renamed the National Operetta. And on May 14, 2021, the long-awaited opening of a new reconstructed main hall was announced! The event was a step towards a new future, a new history of Kyiv operetta. During the reconstruction, the bold ideas of leading Kyiv architects and engineers were implemented. They are reflected in the stylistic diversity of the hall.
And today the modernized institution positions itself as a Theater of Performing Arts and invites everyone to join the high creativity and enrich their own inner world. The address of the theater is st. Velyka Vasylkivska, 53/3.
The Kyiv Operetta`s Theater is holding the year 2021 under the sign of updating not only the constructive but also the repertoire. Proof of this was the high-profile premiere of the musical 'Dorian Gray'. For the first time in Ukraine, the theater presented a work based on Oscar Wilde's novel in the format of a musical.
