The beginning of a career in humor
Vasyl Baydak, whose biography is of interest to many today, after graduating from school entered the Yaroslav Mudry National Law University, where he simultaneously immersed himself in the world of humor and gave his first performances on stage as part of the university's KVK team. It was there that his creative base as a comedian began to form - with a lively sense of the audience, the reaction of the audience and the first improvisations. Vasyl also had a background in working as an animator for children. This experience later became the basis for witty jokes in stand-up monologues and added self-irony and vitality to his performances. In 2012, together with Oleksandr Serdyuk, Oleh Svishch and Vadym Kozedub, he created his own team and performed in the Kharkov KVK league. One of the performances ended unexpectedly - the team was disqualified due to the difference between the rehearsal and stage scripts. However, this particular incident was a turning point: the participants united in the theater of the absurd "Gorobchyk", where they were able to fully reveal their unconventional style and love for the absurd.
Vasyl Baydak's first solo performances as a stand-up comedian date back to 2013. Then he went on stage under the pseudonym Dyadya Vasya. During this period, the artist actively discovered Western culture for himself - American and British humor, cinema, music and pop culture. The greatest influence on the style of the young comedian was Monty Python, Eddie Izzard and Dylan Moran. It was this mixture of intellectual humor, absurdity and freedom of thought that shaped Baydak as an artist and determined the further direction of his work.
Performance formats
For a long time, Vasyl Baydak worked in the genre of pure absurdity and alternative comedy, where every joke could look like an unexpected experiment. Over time, the author's style has transformed and now combines classic stand-up, monologue and observational comedy.Vasyl's main strength is improvisation. During each concert, Baydak actively interacts with the audience, changes the course of the performance depending on the audience's reaction and turns live communication into part of the show. This approach makes each live a unique event that cannot be completely repeated.
Vasyl Baydak's solo work deserves special attention. The comedian's most famous solo tour is "Random-Chaotic". In 2023, the comedian with this program not only collected sold-out shows and full halls, but also accumulated over 5 million hryvnias for charity. The funds were donated to support the Defense Forces. The name of the tour accurately conveys the state in which the country lives: life seems chaotic, full of absurdity, but at the same time deeply real.
Vasyl Baydak also released a solo album “Death, Parrot and Piano”, which is available for a donation on the Takflix platform.
Humor style and joke themes

The artist talks about war, internal experiences, social processes and personal experience, without avoiding complex topics. The artist’s style of jokes is today described as “observation of the absurdity of life”. The comedian takes ordinary situations – interaction with the banking system, raising funds for equipment for the front, stories from travel or even everyday moments – and through hyperbole turns them into strong comedic material.
Separate blocks of performances are dedicated to the military – with respect, gratitude and awareness of their role. Vasyl Baydak doesn’t just joke – he creates a space where laughter helps to experience difficult emotions. The comedian himself explains it simply: humor for him is a way to maintain internal balance. The more difficult the situation around him, the more the need to joke arises in order not to let difficult emotions prevail.
