The artist's early years
Vitalii Kozlovskyi is a Ukrainian singer and Honored Artist of Ukraine. The future star of the Ukrainian music industry was born in Lviv. His parents had no connection to the creative or cultural sphere. His mother worked as an accountant, while his father was an electrician. Nevertheless, music had been part of Vitalii's life since childhood. His family enjoyed listening to popular songs, while the young performer was passionate about dancing and, from 2002, became a member of the renowned modern ballet troupe «Zhyttia». The dance company is known for its collaboration with Ukrainian music star Ruslana.
Vitalii Kozlovskyi grew up in an environment where his parents trusted his choices and supported his interests. He began taking dance lessons at the age of eight and later joined his school's music and choreography clubs. At the same time, he attended music school, studying piano.
His stage debut took place at a school concert, where he performed the folk hit «I Will Go to the Distant Mountains». After graduating from school in 2002, Kozlovskyi enrolled in the Faculty of Journalism at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. This decision became a compromise between his artistic ambitions and his parents' vision of his future profession. However, music remained his priority, and his student years were filled with performances, competitions, festivals, and active participation in the university's cultural life.
Creative journey
Vitalii Kozlovskyi's singing career began in 2002. That year, he first gained nationwide recognition after winning the popular television show «Karaoke on Maidan» in Lviv. His emotional performance of the song «She» brought him not only victory but also recognition and popularity among the show's audience. In the same year, Vitalii became a finalist in the first season of the talent show «Chance» on Inter TV, where he performed the song «Marigolds». Participation in these projects expanded his fan base and opened the doors to the professional music scene.
In 2004, the singer attempted to enter the international stage by participating in the «New Wave» competition. Although his initial performance failed to impress the judges, Kozlovskyi was given a second chance. He chose to perform the song «Return from the Memories», despite his producer's advice. As a result, Vitalii Kozlovskyi finished eighth among sixteen contestants at the competition in Jūrmala.
His acquaintance with Ihor Kondratiuk, which began during «Karaoke on Maidan», developed into a long-term creative partnership. During ten years under Kondratiuk's production, the young artist released four studio albums, three of which achieved gold status. His repertoire was enriched with hit songs that topped music charts, including «Shakespeare», «Piña Colada», «You Know», and others. Vitalii became one of the most popular Ukrainian artists of the 2000s.
The performer's style and creative development
At the beginning of his career, Vitalii Kozlovskyi stood out among young performers thanks to his striking image and charismatic stage presence. Long hair, a neatly groomed beard, and a romantic appearance became his signature style and won over his fans. However, his stage persona evolved over the years. In 2014, he underwent a dramatic transformation by cutting his hair short, getting into excellent physical shape, and choosing a more restrained wardrobe. The artist admitted that he had discovered yoga, which gradually became not just a practice but a personal philosophy. Regular workouts in the gym also became an integral part of his everyday life.
The changes affected not only his appearance but also his artistic direction. In 2012, Kozlovskyi ended his long-term collaboration with producer Ihor Kondratiuk and began an independent career. A symbolic beginning of this new chapter came in 2013 with a performance in Kyiv, where Vitalii presented a new acoustic program titled «Radiance».
Later that same year, the singer made his debut as a producer by mentoring young Lviv-based singer Yuliia Dumanska. Their first joint project was the music video for the duet «Secret».
In 2014, the artist released the album «Be Stronger». It became the first record of the new stage in Vitalii's musical biography. On December 3, 2015, Kozlovskyi performed the large-scale solo concert «220» at the National Palace of Arts «Ukraine». In 2017, the singer once again competed in Ukraine's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song «I'm Your Light». His first appearance in the national selection had taken place in 2010.
