The ballet "Carmen.TV" directed by Radu Poklitaru and performed by the Academic Theater "Kyiv Modern Ballet" will be presented in Kyiv.
The well-known story of the gypsy woman, the heroine of Prosper Mérimée's novella, received a new, unexpected interpretation in this ballet.
Thanks to Radu Poklitaru's innovative choreography, the stage life of the characters in the play was filled with piercing modern intonations, while preserving the charm of 19th-century Spain. The music of Georges Bizet's opera "Carmen" made it possible to create a new stage version of the famous plot, without departing from its spirit and emotional tension.
The sets and costumes, created by theater artists Andriy Zlobin and Anna Ipatieva, fill the stage space with the rhythm of 21st-century life, while preserving the feeling of old Spain.
