Michael is a chef who is used to enjoying simple things: good food, smells, wine, chance encounters. Susan is an epidemiologist who is used to looking for logical explanations where others see chaos. Their acquaintance was supposed to be just a random one-night stand. But gradually real feelings arise between them.
Meanwhile, the world is facing a strange epidemic. One by one, people begin to lose their sense of smell. Then their sense of taste. Over time, the disease spreads further, taking away other human senses.
Susan and her colleagues try to understand the nature of the disease, but none of the known theories provide an answer. Humanity is gradually changing, and with it the usual lives of the heroes change.
For Michael, his profession loses its meaning. For Susan, the search for salvation becomes a personal struggle. And for both of them, there remains a question that becomes increasingly important:
What happens to love when a person begins to lose the ability to feel the world?
