Badactress (also known as Niura) is a Ukrainian multigenre performer - singer, blogger, and actress - who gained popularity and widespread recognition thanks to her TikTok videos. Badactress collaborates with music producer Krechet. Through her tracks, she addresses LGBTQ+ topics, fat-shaming, and issues related to women's rights.
Badactress's music career began unexpectedly. The artist's spontaneous duet with John Mark Nelson on TikTok gathered nearly half a million views and became the starting point of her creative transformation. Her one-woman theater found a new voice. She had long felt drawn to music, as she could write songs and sing, albeit on an amateur level. However, she lacked the push needed to take the first step.
One day, Niura wrote a short composition and posted it on social media without even suspecting that it would change her life. The audience's response was so enthusiastic that listeners practically forced the performer to officially release the song. By that time, Badactress had already assembled the band she continues to work with today. At first, the artist was driven forward solely by the audience's attention. Later, however, the singer consciously immersed herself in the world of music and can no longer imagine her life without creativity.
Creative Journey
Her musical debut came with the release of the single «wlw.ua». It is an anthem to love between women wrapped in infectious disco rhythms. Badactress boldly speaks about the search for sexual identity among teenagers, raising issues that often remain unaddressed. The title of the track stands for "woman loving woman." The atmosphere of the music video is filled with teenage emotions: alone in her room behind closed doors, a girl spends the entire day preparing for a date, experiencing familiar feelings of excitement, anticipation, and hope.
In 2023, Badactress and her creative team released their debut EP «Villain Era», dedicated to the moment when a person finally begins to live for themselves. «Villain Era» is an English-language term that gained popularity the previous year. On TikTok, the corresponding hashtag has already accumulated more than 160 million views. The concept symbolizes a turning point in life when a person stops adapting to other people's expectations. Instead of trying to be "convenient," they put their own desires first.
This inner transformation is exactly what Badactress explores throughout the EP. The album is filled with references to the works of Lewis Carroll, Hans Christian Andersen, and Clive Staples Lewis. These references create an atmosphere where fantasy intertwines with reality, and fairy-tale imagery becomes a metaphor for personal growth. The release also expresses a strong rejection of falsehood and hypocrisy. This idea is especially vivid in the track «Circus».
Current Period
Recently, Badactress has significantly strengthened her position on the Ukrainian music scene by actively releasing new music and regularly performing live. Throughout 2025, her discography expanded with the singles «HATER», «Believe in People», «PURPLE», «Lonely Party», and «The End of the Movie». Another important milestone was her major solo concert held in May 2025 at Kyiv's Origin Stage venue. In 2026, Badactress continued her creative momentum by releasing the songs «Diagnosis», «OH NO», «Fool», and «Again». The next stage of the artist's career will be the release of her first full-length album, «Princess in Armor», scheduled for August 2026 on Spotify. Later in the autumn, the singer will present the new record live during a major concert at Atlas Club, where fans will be the first to hear the album performed live.
Social Activity
Following the start of the full-scale invasion, Badactress cut ties with her previous audience. The artist released a video statement announcing that from then on she would communicate and sing exclusively in Ukrainian. In her vlogs, Badactress openly discusses important social issues ranging from feminism and criticism of body-shaming to honest conversations about bisexuality.
Her active and outspoken stance has made the singer one of the few artists who boldly explore important and complex social topics in their work. In August 2023, Badactress became one of the protagonists of the documentary project «Visible», where she emphasized that human rights must be defended today rather than postponed until "after the victory," because the country's future is being shaped right now.

In 2024, Badactress released the album «The Easy Way to Leave Your Boyfriend». The record became a form of emotional therapy after escaping a toxic relationship. Its title was inspired by Allen Carr's book «The Easy Way to Stop Smoking». Throughout the album, the singer draws parallels between dependence on relationships and harmful addictions. The songs reflect her personal story, portraying both the euphoria of first love and the painful yet necessary realization that it is time to let go.
