Alexander Ponomarev is one of the first pop singers of independent Ukraine. His takeoff was swift, and a number of songs were forever included in the golden fund of domestic popular music.

ALEXANDER PONOMARYOV: HOW THE Singer BECAME FAMOUS

Few people know, but Alexander Ponomarev might not have become a singer. Along with music, he was engaged in boxing until the age of 15. But a head injury during the competition forced him to stop practicing this sport. When the question arose of higher education, the future artist chose a music school.

Success was not long in coming:

• 1993 - graduates from school, wins the contest "Chervona Ruta", is recognized as the best pop singer of Ukraine.
• 1996 - the release of the first album "Z ranku till night." The song of the same name becomes a hit.
• 1997 - victory at the "Tavria Games", presentation of the second album, recital in the Kiev palace "Ukraine".
• 1998 - Alexander Ponomarev becomes the youngest Honored Singer of Ukraine in history. There is a tour of 25 cities.

Given these and future successes of the singer, it is not surprising that it was he who in 2004 became the first representative of Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest.
