VDNG: a large-scale public space surrounded by the Holosiivskyi Forest
VDNG at 1 Akademika Glushkov Avenue is a unique location in Kyiv, home to the largest exhibition and cultural and innovation center in Ukraine. History and features of the National Expocenter of Ukraine
The VDNG complex first opened on July 6, 1958 and immediately received the title of the greenest expocenter in the world, where masterpieces of neo-baroque architecture with elements of antiquity and cozy natural open-air locations were combined on a vast territory.
The golden era of the Expocenter lasted until 1991. During this period, VDNG acquired the status of an object of world importance. However, success and popularity were replaced by oblivion and decline, which lasted until 2015, when VDNH embarked on the path of cultural revival. The complex is developing into the National Cultural and Educational Park, where the most important events in the life of Ukrainians take place. And already in 2021, the expo center will be visited by 5.5 million people.
2025–2026 is a period of rethinking the past and a step into the future of VDNH, which during a full-scale invasion becomes a real center of inspiration, comfort and emotional recovery for Kyiv residents and guests of the city.

- 287 hectares of territory;
- 150 buildings and structures (19 with the status of historical and cultural monuments of Ukraine);
